Day-by-Day Itinerary
Depart Nairobi at 7:30 AM and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley escarpment with panoramic views stretching across the valley floor. Stop at the viewpoint for photographs before continuing through Narok town. Arrive at your Masai Mara lodge by lunchtime and enjoy a welcome drink and freshly prepared buffet lunch overlooking the African bush. Check into your comfortable room with en-suite facilities and a private veranda. After settling in, head out for an afternoon game drive as the Mara comes alive with wildlife activity. Search for lion prides, elephant herds, giraffe towers, and the elusive leopard as the golden afternoon light creates perfect photography conditions. Return to the lodge for a three-course dinner by candlelight.
Early morning game drive departing at 6:30 AM when predators are most active. The Mara at dawn is an unforgettable experience — golden light, misty plains, and the raw drama of Africa's greatest wildlife show. Track the Big Five across the vast savannah, visit the Mara River for hippos and crocodiles, and explore areas where cheetahs favor open terrain for their high-speed hunts. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and time to relax by the pool or enjoy the lodge's facilities. After lunch, head back out for an afternoon game drive exploring different sectors of the reserve. Drive through rolling grasslands dotted with wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson's gazelle as far as the eye can see. Watch hyenas at their den with pups, spot topi standing sentinel on termite mounds, and listen for the alarm calls that signal a predator is nearby. Sundowner drinks in the bush watching the spectacular Mara sunset before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Final sunrise game drive for last unforgettable sightings. The early morning light often reveals predators returning from night hunts and lion cubs playing in the dew-covered grass. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast, check out, and drive back to Nairobi arriving by late afternoon. Drop-off at hotel or airport.
