From $1,450 per person • 3 Days / 2 Nights
Tour Overview
A once-in-a-lifetime encounter with endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to approximately half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Trek through ancient misty rainforest and spend a magical hour observing a gorilla family in their natural habitat. This is widely regarded as one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences on Earth.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Early morning departure from Entebbe or Kampala. Drive through the lush Ugandan countryside passing through towns, tea plantations, and terraced hillsides. Stop at the Equator crossing for photos. Continue through the dramatic landscapes of southwestern Uganda. Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the late afternoon. Evening briefing about tomorrow's gorilla trek — what to expect, what to bring, and trekking etiquette.
The day you have been waiting for. Report to the park headquarters at 8:00 AM for registration and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family to visit. Trek into the dense, misty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with experienced trackers and armed rangers. The trek can take 1-6 hours depending on where the gorillas are — traversing steep muddy trails through thick jungle. When you find the gorilla family, you will spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants up close. Watch silverbacks beating their chests, mothers cradling babies, and juveniles playing in the trees. The experience is profoundly emotional and humbling. Return to your lodge exhausted but elated. Evening celebration dinner.
After breakfast, optional morning community walk to visit the local Batwa pygmy community — the original forest inhabitants — for cultural performances and stories. Depart Bwindi and drive back to Entebbe/Kampala arriving by evening. Transfer to airport or hotel. Safari ends.
