4-Day Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Lodge Safari

Day 1 is built around Flamingos and Rhino sanctuary. Morning drive to Lake Nakuru National Park through the scenic Kenya Highlands. Settle into your lakeside lodge by lunchtime. The afternoon is reserved for a game drive around the rhino sanctuary and flamingo-lined lake shores. The park is compact but incredibly wildlife-rich — spot Rothschild's giraffe browsing the acacia woodland, enormous buffalo herds grazing the open grasslands, waterbuck with their distinctive white ring, and troops of baboons foraging along the lake edges. With luck, spot the park's resident leopard lounging in a fever tree or lions surveying their territory from a rocky outcrop. Head back to the lodge for dinner.

The focus today is Rift Valley drive and First Mara game drive. Start with a morning game drive in Nakuru for final sightings, focusing on the euphorbia forest where rhinos are frequently spotted. Following breakfast, drive through the Rift Valley to Masai Mara arriving by late afternoon. Settle into your comfortable Mara lodge with views stretching across the golden savannah. Enjoy an evening game drive as the sun descends and the Mara turns golden — the wildlife density is staggering, with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and topi visible within minutes of entering the reserve. Head back to the lodge for a candlelit dinner.

Today's route brings together Big Five tracking and Mara River. Spend the day focused on game drives in the Masai Mara. Morning drive tracking predators — lions, cheetahs, and leopards are all resident here in healthy numbers. Stop at the Mara River for hippos, crocodiles, and during migration season the dramatic river crossings where thousands of wildebeest brave crocodile-infested waters. Bush picnic lunch surrounded by wildlife. Afternoon drive exploring the Mara Triangle or Paradise Plains. Watch elephants crossing the plains, buffalo herds moving like a dark wave across the grasslands, and giraffes silhouetted against the vast African sky. Optional Maasai village cultural visit to experience traditional dances and learn about their ancient pastoral way of life. Head back to lodge for a sunset dinner.
