    Tour Overview

Three of Kenya's most iconic wildlife destinations combined in one incredible budget-friendly 5-day safari. Cruise among hippos on Lake Naivasha, walk with zebras on Crescent Island, spot flamingos and rhinos at Lake Nakuru, and experience the legendary Masai Mara's Big Five and predator action.

    Day-by-Day Itinerary

Drive from Nairobi to the freshwater Lake Naivasha nestled in the Great Rift Valley — a scenic 2-hour journey through the highlands. After checking in and lunch, enjoy an afternoon boat ride across the lake gliding past pods of enormous hippos surfacing and yawning, while African fish eagles swoop from waterside trees with their distinctive piercing cry. Spot herons, cormorants, kingfishers, and lily-trotters among the papyrus reeds. Then visit Crescent Island — a unique private wildlife sanctuary where you walk freely among zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, and gazelle with no fences or vehicles between you and the animals, creating one of the most intimate wildlife encounters in Kenya.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park — a compact but incredibly wildlife-rich park and designated rhino sanctuary. Enjoy a full day game drive around the alkaline lake where thousands of flamingos paint the shoreline pink in a breathtaking natural spectacle. The park is one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos up close. Search for Rothschild's giraffes with their distinctive markings, massive buffalo herds, waterbuck, and the park's resident leopards that often drape themselves in the fever trees. The birdlife is extraordinary with pelicans, cormorants, and martial eagles soaring overhead.

Morning game drive in Nakuru for final sightings, then drive south through the Great Rift Valley landscape to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive by mid-afternoon and check into your budget camp. Head out for your first Mara game drive as the golden afternoon light illuminates the vast savannah stretching to the horizon. The Masai Mara has the highest density of wildlife per square kilometer in Africa — expect to see wildebeest, zebra, elephants, giraffes, and with luck your first big cat sighting within minutes of entering the reserve.

Full day exploring the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives covering different sectors of this legendary reserve. Morning drive tracking predators at their most active — lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Visit the Mara River where massive Nile crocodiles bask and hippo pods fill the pools, and during migration season (July-October) witness the dramatic wildebeest river crossings. Bush picnic lunch surrounded by grazing wildlife. Afternoon drive through rolling grasslands where enormous buffalo herds move like dark waves and elephant families travel in stately procession. Optional Maasai village visit ($25).

Final early morning game drive for last unforgettable wildlife encounters. The dawn hours reward with magical golden light, predators returning from nocturnal hunts, and lion cubs playing in the cool morning air. After the game drive, return to camp for breakfast, pack up, and depart for Nairobi arriving by late afternoon. Drop-off at hotel or JKIA airport.
